Educents LOVE

 Hello Teaching Friends,

It has been a long time since my last post! I have been so busy, IVF has really taken over my life. We are finally to the stage of the transfer - it has been a long road. Long story short after our stimulation meds, I got very sick. We only ended up with 1 out of 16 embryos to test for Fragile X. It was a long 7 days to get the test results back. Our little BOY (yes they can tell that) is Fragile X free - my heart is very happy. We are scheduled for a transfer on the 27th of Janruary. So far away, yet so close!

Anyway - Educents is have a 2nd/3rd grade bundle sale and OMG so happy about this! Click to check it out - I am so in love with all of these products and the best part is that it is like 75% off! I love all of these authors and they do really great work! Click on the picture to go to it!

Five For Friday!

I am so so happy that it is Friday! I have been waiting all week for today! It has been a very challenging week. Because my school ability groups AND loops (so I have my kiddos for 2 years) it has been a hard week. I have been working I feel like DOUBLE time - so it has been hard concentrating especially knowing that we start our shots for IVF on Wednesday next week :) So here is my 5 for Friday :)

These are one of the most helpful things I have made for my classroom. It is a set of almost 66 different task cards that kids have to use during the day. I made them because I wanted to give directions and have a visual for those directions and stop having the question being asked "Can I use????" They are at my TPT store for only $1 - LOVE THEM! They are a life saver! Click HERE to grab your own!
LOVE LAKESHORE! This is a double post! I have two products that I use in my classroom for intervention tools and I love them! I am using a 3 letter building mat with pictures and then these awesome rubber stamps for phonics. The stamps are by far my favorite. They leave out the beginning, middle OR ending sound for the kids to sound out the letter and put in the right sound. It has been a huge hit in my class.
I love making fun things for my students! I just have started making "Fun Flip Books" This one (on time) was my first one. And let me tell you my kiddos loved doing it! They just loved the idea of cutting, coloring and learning about time at the same time. It was such a fun activity. Here are some pictures :) If you want to grab one click HERE to grab one!
INTERVENTION! LOVE THESE! I am using these Fry passages with my kiddos. They have been a life saver. They read the passage 3 times, each time after they read, they color in one smiley face. This makes sure that they are reading the story 3 times (fluency). I also have some sight words that they have to color in too during the process. This has really helped with my kiddos with their fluency.

Taking a Break

Hello Everyone,

As some have read my husband and I are going through Invitrofertilzation due to some genetic difficulties. We have recently found out through some traumatic turn of events that I have a blood disorder. For the past couple of days I haven been in hospital, countless specialists and of course back at our IVF clinic to try and get everything back on track. I just need some time to gather myself back up and prepare for the next couple of weeks. Keep teaching with love :)

Major Haul!

If you are like me you are probably starting to notice all of the school supplies - eye twitching. I seriously have to control myself because things get really dangerous very very quickly (my bank account would look very very sad). I took a trip to all of my stores around me looking for the best organization materials I could possibly find - then BOOM there it was. This sweet little puppy at Walmart :) It was only $13.00 and holds 27 folders (Insert jumping up and down here)

I plan on using this to track my student's data and copies of their tests, parent emails, any SAT/Referral information (also copies of their report cards, midterm reports etc). OMG like soo very excited to use them!

I also picked up these cute clip chalkboard labels at Michaels (only $1.50 for a pack of 6 - and with teaching badge it was only like $1.00). Here is a closer look at them :)

The other project I am working on is my new Place Value boards. I created these sweet little things about two years ago to use in my classroom. I give each student a deck of cards (leave the face cards in because they double as a 0)

  • make the number 4 tens + 2 ones (then they place their cards on each space)
  • Make the number 140 (then they have to use their cards to make that number)
I am working on new ones (actual computer templates including labels because I HATE my handwriting). They will hopefully be up at my TPT store within the next week. I will post new pictures when they are up :)

WOW - BUSY

Hello Friends!

I have been so busy this past week creating things for my classroom and for TPT. It is crazy! I have been on "vacation" for a week which means I have so much free time. I have decided that my new theme this year is going to be Ladybugs - so without further a due here is my projects :)

Click here to grab them - they are $6 BUT you get ALL of the common core standards. Most products on TPT are $5 for just one section of "I Can Statements". These also have blanks that you can make your own along with each CCS posted underneath each section - great for pocket charts!

Oh RUBRICS GALORE! I LOVE these! I started making full common core rubrics based on my best sellers of the Writing Rubrics. I use these packets during report card "season" and send home with report cards as well with tests, projects, writing assignments etc. Since I loop I am making Kindergarten - 3rd grade. I promise you these are a time saver, documentation aid and just handy to show at conferences :) Click the picture to grab your own! I promise you it will make a world of difference :)

If you would like the 1st grade one please click here! I am almost done with the 2nd grade one also :)

Last but NOT least - thank you to the wonderful School Supply Addict I have made a fun game for my kiddos that I wanted to share. It is called "I Have...Who Has.." it is based on money up to $2.00. I absolutely love this game :) It is only $2.00 at my TPT store. Check out my blog later in the year to see how I used it. I am planning on a whole group first then breaking down to a center with my kiddos :)

Class Dojo

Alright I feel as though the clouds have opened and the angels are singing! I am doing summer school this year in a different district in order to "get a change of scenery" and I can not believe all of the things I have learned. I have this loop a very academically and behaviorally challenging class :( So I was told by a co-worker about Class Dojo....OMG what a life saver! You can track positive ad negative behaviors....but it gets way better! You can also print out their percentages to use as DATA! Students can also access their characters and change their aviators - the great part about it also is that parents can log in a see how their children are doing :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Check it out! You can also download the free app to use on your ipad and smartphone... like I said life saver.

And waaalllllaaa my Kindergarten one is finally done! I am so happy because I can not wait to use these in two years (ah the joy of looping). They are finally ready at my TPT store, here is a sneak preview. Go check them out!

Summer Learning!

Hello Super Stars :)

Well for the past couple of weeks I am trying to get ready for 2nd grade! Yikes! So I taught first grade this year and then next year I take the same class and teach them 2nd grade....confusing I know! I have been running around with my head cut off trying to get ready for summer school (my room - not me). That is soooo stressful taking everything down, cleaning through 2 grades of curriculum to make my space as welcoming as I possibly can make it for the teacher who will be in my room for summer school. I am really hoping she/he can reach my students who are struggling in a way I couldn't...urgh.

So in order to TRY to keep my students thinking through the summer I created a summer packet that is common core aligned and super fun but yet not super hard for summer fun.
Click here to check it out!
I am just so excited to have the end of the year come. It was a tough one super stars! My school groups students based on their academic level (cough cough tracking) so I had the low group (they were almost 2 academic years behind when I got them). So it has been a great learning experience for this 2nd year teacher. I am excited to see these pumpkins through to 2nd grade and HOPEFULLY they will be ready for 3rd. Many a nights were spent crying this year - mostly feeling bad and sometimes feeling not good enough to help these kiddos. But as a good teacher - I hope - EVERY teacher feels this way at some  point :) But we carry on and do the best we can. Hopefully this packet makes sure they don't forget everything I taught them this year :)

Fun Add, Graph and Tally

Good morning!

I am super excited for next year so I decided to start creating some more centers to that I am ready to go the very first day of school! I am able to get started with learning right away because I loop with my class. So next year I have the same group of kiddos, but I am just going to be teaching 2nd grade instead of 1st grade. I will of course probably take more time to reteach learning behaviors and routines, because I run a tight FUN ship :)

Anyway here are my super fun add, graph and tally packets that are only $1.00 at my TPT store. I only have a fall and winter one as of now, but don't you worry! There will be plenty coming :)

Number Ordering Fun

 Greetings Super Stars,
With the end of the school year coming to an end I wanted to create a fun math center for my kiddos to do, but still be reinforcing their skills at the same time. I created the ordering numbers packet. Here is a sneak preview of it.

This fabulous packet includes 4 sets of numbers ranging from 0 to 120 for students to arrange and record their answers. My students love love love these! Each recording sheet also comes with an answer key for easy and quick assessing :) And for only $2 who could beat that?!

 Greetings Super Star Teachers,
Welcome to my blog. I am a looping teacher in Minnesota so I teach 1st and 2nd grad with the same gourp of students for two hearts (year 1 is first grade, year two is 2nd grade). I am so excited to start this journey of blogging - there might even be some outfits.

Anywho on to the first freebies!

I love to have checklists for my students (visual or text) so that they can independently evaluate their writing and work on their own (and create a sense of independence). So here is my free - yes - free checklist. It is simple enough for all students to use on their own.
Click here to grab your own!

Next is another math station that I made for my very struggling kids. I love My Cute Graphics because all of their graphics are free and SUPER cute :)  These are for students who are having trouble with facts up to 10. You get one recording sheet and about 12 addition problems and 12 subtraction problems with cute flower answer cards.
